As a result many new television shows have flourished and many have been successful too and the same can be said about movies as well. These shows provide different themes and they target specific audiences.
Produced by ABC studios and created by Andrew.W. Marlowe, Castle is a very popular American television series whose genre is mystery, comedy and drama, Castle premiered in July 2009 and was broadcast on ABC and the series revolves around two people who during the course of crime mysteries have to deal with the mysteries of their own relationship as well.
Stana Katic plays the role of a detective Kate Beckett who is involved in solving various crimes. Nathan Fillion is in the role of Richard Castle who is a mystery novelist and due to certain circumstances meets Beckett and starts following her as she investigates cases because in her he sees the character for his next novel. Beckett though does not like this idea and does not approve of his following but slowly she realizes that Castle was proving out to be a very good help for solving crimes and therefore allows him to follow. But the following has its own share of comedy, drama and romance and thus makes up for some good entertainment.
Apart from Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion, the castle also has Jon Huertas, Seamus Dever, Molly.C.Quinn, Susan Sullivan and Tamala Jones in key roles. The series has seen a number of directors such as Bryan Spicer, Rob Bowman, John Terlesky and Thomas.J.Wright while the various writers have been Alexi Hawley, Will Beall, Andrew.W.Marlowe amongst others. The show has had three seasons and a total of 56 episodes. The major cast of castle has largely remained unchanged throughout all the seasons.
Though Castle has not won any awards, it has been nominated for a number awards which is no small feat in itself considering the competition of the shows that are being made. The show has been nominated for Outstanding composition for a series at the 2009 Emmy awards, for best actor as well as best actress in a series at the satellite awards inn 2009 and best sound editing- short form music in television for golden reel award in 2010.

The castle’s season 1 DVD was released in the US on September 22, 2009 and in Germany on May 6, 2010. The Season 2 DVD would be most probably released in the later part of September.
