Let’s talk about Tom Hanks. I cannot say that Mr. Hanks is one of my favorite actors per se, but do I respect his talent? Absolutely. In fact, I can admit that he is probably one of the top 5 most talented actors working today, and I think that shows if you look at his trophy case and choices of roles.

There is a lot to love about Terminator 2 – Judgment Day. It is up there with many other classic science fiction movies as one that is indispensable to the genre. The cinematography is great, and when the aspects of fate and trying to save the world are mixed in with the sometimes cheesy dialog and acting, we are left with one incredibly charming movie.

In 1957, Stanley Kubrick directed a movie that would change the face of war as no one had seen before on the silver screen. Inspired to bring the novel by Humphrey Cobb he read in his school days to life in live action, Kubrick embarked on a journey to reveal the seedy underbelly of war that few people dare to think about. Paths of Glory sparked much controversy across the nation, and even in other countries, temporarily hindering the careers of Kubrick and the lead actors involved. However, when this taboo lifted, it only revealed the truth and irony of the film’s message.

Imagine two people with completely separate agendas in their life crossing paths because they need one another. This only happens in movies like Knight & Day where two random people happen to meet at a moment in time where fate has intertwined them. He turns out to be her knight as the title indicates, yet the characters also happen to be so different that the implied comparison between night and day is also apparent.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor is a post-rock group from Montreal, Canada. They are most widely known for their lengthy songs and extensive and visual live shows. Their recordings and performances generally consist of electric guitars and percussion instruments, however more obscure instruments such as French horns and glockenspiels have been known to make appearances.
