Star Wars Films and LEGO Sets

There are a total of seven movies that have been released thus far by LucasFilms for the Star Wars series. For every one of these movies, the LEGO Group has released a line of Star Wars LEGO sets to compliment the scenes in each movie. Here we will list each of the LEGO systems that has been released for each movie thus far.

The first movie released for the prequels trilogy, the Phantom Menace. The LEGO Group released several LEGO systems based on this film including the only Star Wars LEGO Set that is built for toddlers, the Podracer Bucket. This set, like its name suggests, is sold in a bucket and is toddler friendly.

Episode II is the 2ND movie released for the prequel series. The LEGO sets based on Attack of the Clones include the ever hard to find Jango Fett’s Slave I LEGO Set. This LEGO Set includes two of the more rare LEGO mini figures in Jango Fett and child Boba Fett.

The Revenge of the Sith was the third movie released after the original movies. Episode III was released in 2005. The Revenge of the Sith series of LEGO sets includes one of the more imaginative LEGO sets in the Darth Vader Transformation. This set includes an Anakin Walker mini figure and a Darth Vader mini figure and depicts Anakin’s transformation to Darth Vader.

A New Hope is actually the first film released by LucasFilms in it’s now legendary Star Wars series. Now called Episode IV, a New Hope was released in 1977. More than twenty years later, LucasFilms and the LEGO Group teamed up to recreate the Star Wars series in LEGO sets. These LEGO systems are now the LEGO Group’s best selling building block toys.

The Empire Strikes Back was the second film released of the original movies. This film was originally released in 1980. Episode V LEGO sets include some highly prized Star Wars LEGO mini figures including Boba Fett, a Han Solo in carbonite, and Emperor Palpatine. A great LEGO set to own from this series of LEGO sets is the Cloud City 10123.

Return of the Jedi is the last of the original Star Wars films. The LEGO Systems designed around the Return of the Jedi include the Home One Mon Calimari Starcruiser, Ewok Attack 7139 and the very popular Jabba’s Sail Barge 6210. The Sail Barge has quite a few popular Star Wars Mini figures including Luke Skywalker and a Boba Fett!

The newest film released thus far for the Star Wars series is the Clone Wars. Released in 2008, this film is based in a very popular animated series. The LEGO Group certainly outdid themselves with the LEGO sets based on this film. They are very true to the movie as are the Star Wars LEGO Mini figures that are included. These minifigs have a very distinct animated look about them and have proven to be very popular among Star Wars LEGO Collectors.
