LEGO Sets Based On The Clone Wars Theme

LEGO has been putting out new Star Wars themed sets every year since 1999. These are typically great quality LEGO sets that do a good job of driving interest in both Star Wars and LEGO. Before creating Star Wars themed LEGO sets, LEGO did not use licensed characters or vehicles in any of its themes, but since the Star Wars themes have been so popular, the LEGO Group has went ahead and created other already licensed products like Spider-man, Sponge Bob and Indiana Jones.

When LucasFilms released a new movie for the Star Wars series of films called Star Wars: The Clone Wars, LEGO fans and Star Wars fans alike were anxious to see if the LEGO Group could live up to its standards of previous Star Wars themed releases. Fans were more than happy with the new Clone Wars LEGOs as they were a good representation of the Clone Wars film.

This relatively new series of LEGO sets is doing very well and are as successful as the previous Star Wars LEGOs. Some fans thought LEGO might be hard-pressed to create new LEGO systems based on the Clone Wars because so many of the ships and characters in this movie were the same as LEGO systems already released. LEGO did not disappoint. They created a series of LEGOs that do not deviate from the movie at all and still manage to have unique minifigs and vehicles.

By far my favorite of the Clone Wars LEGOs is the Republic Attack Gunship. This LEGO set has five Star Wars LEGO mini figures. These are Obi-Wan Kenobi, Asajj Ventress, Plo Koon, Commander Cody and a Clone Trooper. I love LEGO sets with a good amount of mini figures. The Republic Attack Gunship is loaded with features and very much prepared for battle with a large arsenal of weapons. Unlike some LEGO sets, there are also plenty of places on the Gunship to put LEGO minifigurs which makes the LEGO set that much more enjoyable.

With all of the new releases the LEGO Group has created for the Clone Wars LEGO sets there should be quite a bit of interest generated for awhile for these LEGO Systems. Lucas Films always does a fantastic job promoting. Combine that with the LEGO Groups legion of fans and you have a series of LEGO sets with plenty of momentum behind it. Expect more than a few of the Clone Wars LEGO sets to be rare collectible LEGO sets in the near future. As such it is a good idea to get on board now and pick up as many of these LEGO sets as you can!

Peter owns over a hundred LEGO Minifigures and is a big fan of the new LEGO Clone Wars sets being released.
