The Dawson’s Creek TV show was set in a fictionalized town named Capeside in Massachusetts. The series aired its first episode on 20th January, 1998 and went on for 6 seasons with the last episode being aired in May 2003. The series was later aired in a number of different countries and reruns for it can be seen on many different channels across the globe.
There are four main characters in the entire series and one among them is Williamson played by Dawson Leery. Williamson occupies most of the screen in the whole series and may well be called as the hero of the Dawson’s Creek. The story starts off with four friends who are into the first year of their high school and revolves around these four friends and their introspection into teenage life.
These four friends have been portrayed in such a manner that they have reached the audience very well. Each of these characters has many different sides to their personalities and is very complex to explain. But the directors have been excellent in this regard in making the people understand the characters in the best possible manner.
Another important thing that was the reason for the popularity of this show was its excellent storyline. The music too added to the popularity of this show. Each of the episodes was excellent in its own and was the directors had carved out a niche for themselves. However, Longest Day (3rd season) remains the favorite episode of the people who have been following this series closely.
Out of the four characters, Joey and Williamson were liked by the public and probably their onscreen relation added to this popularity of theirs. At the end of the sixth season, the relationship between Joey and Williamson is brought to an end in a rather emotional manner.
Since this was based on a teen-theme, it was attacked voraciously by the public with many rave reviews. People found it distasteful with the racist dialogues and certain scenes. But gradually this series became hugely popular with its excellent storyline.
