Amber Smith

Amber Smith is a famous American model and actress that has been turning heads and haunting men around the world with her stunning good looks since she began her career as a teenager.  She is best known for her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Esquire, Elle, Vogue, and Cosmopolitan, as well for her L’Oreal, Buffalo Jeans, Camel, Khalua, and Volkswagen advertisements.  Oh yeah, and did I mention she posed for Playboy in March of 1995?  That’s an issue that to this day remains my personal favorite.  Because of its good articles.

Amber was born on March 2nd, 1972 in Tampa, Florida, to pro-football player Russel Smith, and professional model Carol Smith.  Following her mother’s footsteps, Amber began appearing in local newspaper advertisements and fashion shows at age 15.  She spent the next four years in Paris working in European modeling circuits.

Amber would have a career boost when she died her hair red and was considered by many to be a stunningly close double to the famous movie star Rita Hayworth.  Personally, I prefer her with her natural blonde hair but hey, a lot of people had a thing for Rita Hayworth so the resemblance got her some serious attention.  Amber made her first appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, which led her to being chosen as a ‘Vargas Girl’ for the magazine Esquire.  She then went on to be the first model for the ‘Wonderbra’, arguably the greatest invention of the 20th century.

Amber’s sudden success as a model won her appearances on the covers of several high fashion magazines, including Elle, Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire throughout the early 90s.  She also appeared in a number of commercials and advertising campaigns during this time, including her work for L’Oreal, Camel and Volkswagen.

In March 1995, at the age of 22, she was the cover girl for Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine.  It was a great issue.  With some really good articles.  Also in 1995, Amber began a career acting with a role in the movie ‘Faithful’, which released the following year.  For the next ten years Amber appeared in close to twenty other movies, most notably ‘The Funeral’ (1996), ‘LA Confidential’ (1997), and ‘American Beauty’ (1999).  Amber also made a number of television appearances, on ‘Howard Stern’, ‘Friends’, ‘Just Shoot Me!’, and ‘Red Shoe Diaries’.

Although her modeling and acting career’s have slowed down more recently, Amber Smith has already made quite an impact on the world, especially its heterosexual male population.
